Josh & Shelby
Gianni Creative Studio is led by Josh and Shelby, professional safari hosts and photographers with 30 years of combined experience in the safari and photography industries. Having spent years living and working in the bush, their understanding of safari life goes far beyond the camera.
Their experience hosting guests, working alongside lodge teams and witnessing the rhythms of the wilderness first-hand shapes the way they approach every project. This insider perspective allows them to capture lodges, wildlife and guest experiences in a way that feels authentic, immersive and true to the safari world.

Our Story
It all started when we were 11 years old and we got our first camera...
Both Josh and Shelby started in the bushveld, where we each discovered a love for photography through capturing wildlife. At just 11 years old, we were both drawn to nature, light and the quiet stories unfolding in every frame. That early love for nature and storytelling laid the foundation for what would become Gianni Creative Studio.
That was when we decided we had to chase our dreams...
Today, we bring that same passion, curiosity and attention to detail into every wedding, portrait and brand we capture. We stepped fully into the world we loved: storytelling through photos and videos. What started as wildlife photography soon evolved into documenting love stories, brand journeys, real moments and everything in between. We built Gianni Creative Studio to do what sets our souls on fire: creating intentional, emotive photo and video content that means something. To you and to us.
Now, we get to do what we love, together, and we’re honoured every time someone invites us to tell their story.

A fun fact about us
We both discovered our love for photography at just 11 years old and it all started with wildlife. That shared passion for nature and storytelling brought us together as a couple a while before Gianni Creative Studio existed.
Our favourite food
If there’s one thing we’ll never say no to, it’s pizza. Hands-down, our favourite! Whether it’s homemade or shared after a long day of shooting, it’s our go-to comfort meal.
In our spare time...
When we’re not at a shoot, we love spending time in the kitchen; both Josh and Shelby enjoy cooking and baking. We also wind down by playing 30 seconds (we always end up in stitches, laughing) and whenever we get the chance, we head out on safari.
Did you know...
Josh is a qualified field guide and Shelby is a qualified bookkeeper, business manager and interior designer. Josh’s favourite place is the Kruger, while Shelby is happiest either on a safari or simply at home surrounded by good food and good company.
